Calling all mountain bikers! Bike Park Wales near Merthyr Tydfil is one of the UK's top mountain bike parks, with trails for every ability. Beginners can start on Kermit, a 5km green downhill trail, before moving on to the blue intermediate trails, while confident riders can take on the red and black runs. Grab an uplift pass and a minibus will whisk you to the top, or use a pedal pass to climb it yourself, on a normal bike or an e-bike. There's an adaptive bike pass too, for trails tested by adaptive riders. No bike? No problem. You can hire bikes and protective gear, and there's coaching for anyone who wants to build their skills. Families can take advantage of afternoon uplift offers where a child rides free with a paying adult. Good to know: parking is free and there's an on-site café, bike shop and workshop. Passes, hire and coaching are paid.
