About this place
Dunraven Bay, also known as Southerndown beach, is one of the most spectacular spots on the Glamorgan Heritage Coast, with towering stripy cliffs and a sandy beach at low tide. It's a brilliant place for little explorers. Go fossil hunting along the shore and search some of the best rock pools on the coast. Just up from the beach, Dunraven Gardens are lovely for a wander, and if you've brought your walking boots, the clifftop walks give stunning views along the coast. The Glamorgan Heritage Coast Centre and its rangers are based here too. Good to know: there's a large car park. The beach is dog friendly and holds a Seaside Award. Keep an eye on the tides and stay away from the base of the cliffs.
