Dyffryn Gardens

About this place
Dyffryn Gardens is an Edwardian garden just outside Cardiff, and with 55 acres to explore, there's a surprise around every corner. Wander through the themed garden rooms, stroll the South Lawn with its water features, and lose yourself in the 22-acre arboretum full of trees from around the world. Step into the tropical glasshouse to see cacti, succulents and exotic plants, and visit the walled kitchen garden growing fruit, veg and flowers. Kids will love the natural log play areas, and inside Dyffryn House the House of Discovery exhibition tells the story of the house and its restoration. There's a café for lunch or cake, plus a gift shop, plant shop and second-hand bookshop. Look out for seasonal events throughout the year. Good to know: entry is paid (free for National Trust members). Parking is free. Dogs are welcome on short leads. Wheelchairs and mobility scooters can be borrowed free of charge (booking recommended). Bikes can be parked but not ridden in the gardens.
