Ogmore-by-Sea is a beautiful spot where the River Ogmore meets the sea, with golden sands beneath dramatic cliffs and big views out across the water. It's ideal for a lazy stroll, a picnic or exploring the rocks along the shore. Walkers can follow the Vale Trail 1 along the Glamorgan Heritage Coast, with three routes to choose from: 8 miles, a 4-mile loop, or a 2-mile route that's suitable for buggies and wheelchairs. A short trip inland brings you to the ruins of Ogmore Castle beside the river, where crossing the famous stepping stones is a must-do adventure for the kids (and the big kids too!). Good to know: the beach is dog friendly. Keep an eye on the tides when exploring.
