Roath Park
Lake Road West, Cardiff, CF23 5PG
About this place
Roath Park is one of Cardiff's oldest and best-loved parks, and a trip to the lake is a rite of passage for Cardiff families! The big draw is the 30-acre lake, where you can hire rowing boats and pedalos, feed the ducks and spot the famous Scott Memorial Lighthouse on the shore. Wander through the Wild Garden's winding paths, explore the Botanic Garden and pop into the Roath Park Conservatory. Kids can follow the Wildlife Explorer trail, or burn off energy in the playgrounds. It's a Grade I listed, Green Flag park that still has its Victorian layout, and there's a heritage trail if you want to learn more. A cafeteria in the Botanic Garden keeps everyone fuelled. Good to know: the park is free. There's on-street parking in the surrounding area. Ongoing dam works may affect parts of your visit.
